My Pot Of Soup Is Inconclusive! - Usoro I. Usoro

My Pot Of Soup Is Inconclusive! - Usoro I. Usoro

Everything in Nigeria is inconclusive! Once the expectation exceeds the outcome, there must be conflict. And once there is conflict, it’s inconclusive.

Usoro I. Usoro

Madam served me two tiny pieces of meat, yesterday. Plus, one piece of kwashiorkor-infested fish tail. Yet, I’m the headache, sorry, the head of the house, abi? Till today, she can’t explain to me who ate the fish head. Where I come from, that is not acceptable. I found out later that the pieces of meat and fish in the soup-pot were far more than her excuses. So, I declared both the soup and the pot ‘inconclusive’!

Well, someone may argue that my decision was not “fair”. But note: I am black in complexion. And if you insist that it is not constitutional, in my house, personal interest (stomach) supersedes the rule of law. If she does “nansense”, as my deputy, I will impeach her illegally like Okorocha, “by myself alone”. Let her go to Owerri High Court and get it upturned like Eze Madumere, Imo State’s deputy governor, if she can. I must get my rotten fish head and more bony meat. This one must be ‘conclusive’, I swear!

This is Nigeria (in Falz’s tone)! Where everything is ‘inconclusive’! You see, those who hate Buhari argue that he has not brought the promised “change” to Nigeria. Yet, they ignore the new lexicon introduced into our body polity under PMB. If that is not change, then nothing is. It’s an achievement, mbok! It may not replace the “unseen” WAEC Certificate, but it can sit well on the CV! Else, that CV will be ‘inconclusive’!

Yes, everything in Nigeria is inconclusive! Once the expectation exceeds the outcome, there must be conflict. And once there is conflict, it’s inconclusive. Take Buhari and the national carrier. Pre-2015, Buhari promised to shrink the Presidential fleet into a national fleet. Three years after, it has remained ‘inconclusive’. Talk is cheaper than garri!

Suddenly, Buhari promised us “Nigeria Air” (minus the “ways”). ‘Inconclusive’ and unoriginal! Even in photocopying or dusting up old ideas, Buhari is still ‘inconclusive’ Hence, just as suddenly, two months after, the idea was jettisoned. Then, excuses took over, submerging the actualization of a dream. Inconclusive! Now, Lai Mohammed, the (mis)Information Minister, is doing what he knows best – lie! He says investors’ apathy thwarted government plan to #BringBackOurNationalCarrier! But the junior Minister of Aviation, Sen Hadi Sirika, has told him to shut up because he is always “farther from the truth”! The national carrier project, we are told, “has an avalanche of well-grounded and ready investors”. Meaning that the government lied to us. Meaning FG never intended to go through with the plan. Meaning the scheme was just to create media hype for political gains.

But then, this is Nigeria! Where everything is inconclusive! Corruption fight, for instance, has derailed and even the President’s wife is enmeshed in a scandal! Aisha Buhari’s ADC, Sani Baba-Inna, was recently arrested over an alleged N2.5billion scam. Aisha, probably reacting from “za oza room” has disowned the ADC and the alleged scam. Here, excuses and explanations are getting more than the money involved. So, should we believe her? We heard so much about Jonathan’s wife and here heavy bank accounts. And we thought the word “integrity” was enough to sanitise our polity, post-Jona. But again, like in Abdulrasheed Maina (former Pensions boss); NNPC and former SGF Babachir Lawal’s cases, Buhari’s corruption war remains inconclusive! But will Baba-Inna (which means something very interesting in my dialect) have a chance to explain? If “something” happens to him (I cast and bind!), the investigation may be ‘inconclusive’.

Anyway, even recession in Nigeria appears inconclusive! The economy since Buhari came to power, has been tottering at the brink. Now, Central Bank has alerted us not to celebrate the end of recession just yet. Recent fiscal indications, it said, shows that the economy is sliding back into crisis. From 3.55%, it has dwindled to 1.95% between first and second quarters of 2018. Well, it has nothing to do with Adeosun’s fake NYSC certificate and resignation. But, of course, as usual, reasons and excuses outweigh the actual. Hence, our economic gains remain ‘inconclusive’!

This is Nigeria. Where everything is inconclusive! Labour unions are back on strike, a clear sign that welfare and job creation issues under Bubu remain ‘inconclusive’! Recurring negotiations and advertised agreements between labour and government always remain haphazardly implemented. Buhari can’t create jobs. Some of the investments he met were scared off by unconducive policies. Job loss replaced job gains. And the existing jobs aren’t being serviced, properly. The end result is a workforce with ‘inconclusive’ fate and disposition.

This is Nigeria! Where school certificates and supposedly mandatory NYSC attendance become ‘inconclusive’ by the big ogas. And they have constitutional immunity not to lose sleep from useless noise made by the citizenry. Ask PMB, Obono Obla, Communication Insister Adebayo, etc. Yet, only Kemi Adeosun had the nerve to quit her job. Oh, forget prosecution, joor! That is meant for the unfortunate and lowly; not for some untouchable officials. Justice in Nigeria is mostly ‘inconclusive’!

We hear of huge amounts meant for ecological funds in the news only. In reality, it remains ‘inconclusive’! While flood ravages our homes with increased death toll across the nation, government officials churn out excuses and unfounded claims in the media. Then, Osinbade, sorry, Osinbajo does the dirty job of acting for the camera. His job is to lie in filtered English. Then, he announces allocation of relief materials, which might never get to the victims. And, the dead, nko? Flood and environmental war in Nigeria has therefore remained ‘inconclusive’!

This is Nigeria! Where we decimate Boko Haram terrorists every month – since 2015! How they reemerge from the ashes like the phoenix is a real wonder. Each time the terrorists resurface, they get more audacious; more intimidating and more damaging. Each time, Lai Mohammed’s boasts and claims would fill the ocean. Sometimes, he technically defeats the Boko Haram. Sometimes, the army overruns the insurgents. Sometimes, the same leaders are killed about ten times, in a year. Yet, in reality, defeating the terrorists remains ‘inconclusive’!

Truth is, the only thing that has been conclusive in Buhari’s government, so far, is the spelling of the word ‘inconclusive’! Everything else remains inconclusive and requires redoubled efforts to come to a conclusive conclusion.

He called the man out of the large congregration and confronted him. The man appeared shocked as T.B Joshua reached out for the phone in his chest pocket and displayed the screen.

T.B went further to pray for him and the man passed out briefly after assumably falling under the 'anointing'. He later admitted that he was addicted to watching adult contents and he had many girlfriends sending him flirty messages despite him being married.

Imagine ! Homosexual : I Have Slept With a Nigerian Senator, Church Ministers, Others - Kenny Brandmuse

Imagine ! Homosexual : I Have Slept With a Nigerian Senator, Church Ministers, Others - Kenny Brandmuse

Kenny Brandmuse

Brand expert and popular homosexual, Kehinde Bademosi, aka Kenny Brandmuse, has revealed how he has slept with a Nigerian senator and Church ministers.

Brandmuse who stated that there is a lot of hypocrisy surrounding homosexualism in Nigeria, added that he has slept with several high-profile men in the country.

Speaking with Sunday Scoop, he said; “The elephant in the room is denial. We pretend these things are not here. We blame it on the devil or white people. I once slept with a Nigerian Senator, and I’m not surprised he will be the first to put his hands up voting in favour of the same sex marriage prohibition act.

“While in Nigeria, I had sex with church ministers who would come in the open to preach against homosexuality as though it was the reason why Nigeria never had constant electricity. The hypocrisy is deafening. We didn’t learn about same-sex relationships from western countries. Some of my first same-sex encounters were mostly with people who didn’t speak English at all or ever set their feet in a Western school environment.

“Gay people are not the only ones who need to come out. We all need to look into our lives and be upfront with ourselves. Am I living my authentic life or am I living it to please families and friends? To come out is to confront shame and limitations to live our most authentic life.”

Sharing his opinion on Bobrisky, the US-based writer said, “In our days as young gay Nigerians, it was Denrele Edun. All that Bobrisky is doing now, Denrele did and even more. Just that there were no social media.

“To me, Bobrisky and Denrele are powerful provocateurs and gender-bending individuals who continue to use the power of the media to project a side of us we often hide away from. They don’t have to be gay. If they say they are not gay, then they are not.

“Gender presentation or identity is not equal to sexual orientation. There are famous drag queens here in America who are not gay.”

My Pastor - Husband Lured Me Into Marriage With Fake Prophecy - Wife Tells Court

A housewife, Deborah Olusola, yesterday, told an Idi-Ogungun Customary Court, Agodi, Ibadan, Oyo State, that her husband, Pastor Sunday Olusola, lured her into marriage through a fake prophecy. Deborah had approached the court, seeking for dissolution of her 18-month union with the pastor over insincerity, infidelity, nagging and brutality.

In her testimony before the court, the 23-year-old woman narrated how Olusola approached her and promised to assist her spiritually. She said: “He promised to assist me, but later told me that God said both of us should become one through marriage. “I believed the prophecy because I thought it was truly God’s voice and we got married after few weeks.

Again, he prophesied that my mother should resign from her place of work and relocate to our matrimonial apartment. “He said God would kill her if she didn’t obey the purported God’s voice and my mother yielded to the prophecy because she too believed he is a man of God. He began showing his true colour immediately I got pregnant, maltreating me, became unconcerned about my well-being and brutalised me.

“I passed through hell during the pregnancy of the only child of the marriage. His parents too nagged and beat me, and even extended the hatred to my mother by treating her like a slave. The worst he did was that I caught him sleeping with his blood sister and threatened to deal with me if I expose him.

“I couldn’t believe my eyes until I read text message conversations between him and his sister on his cell phone, which confirmed what I saw. “My relationship with him in the last one and half years was not friendly and his way of life didn’t prove he is a man of God. I pray the court to separate us because I can’t cope anymore with the marriage due to his devilish way of life.”

In his defencee, Olusola, 28, denied all the allegations and blamed the plaintiff for the break-up. He urged the court to uphold the divorce request of his wife and pledged to abide with the judgment of the court. Chief Mukaila Balogun, President of the court, dissolved the marriage and gave the custody of the child to the plaintiff. Balogun further ordered the respondent to pay N3,500 monthly for the upkeep of the child.

How The Fulanis Conquered Yoruba, Captured Ilorin And Made It Their Territory

After the Fulanis systematically captured and made Ilorin their territory, they sacked the old Oyo Empire in 1835/1636. They were still not satisfied with their victory; they wished to extend their rule deep into the heart of Yoruba land. Thus in 1840, they set to capture Osogbo, a Yoruba town.

The Fulanis, under the command of Ali, the Hausa balogun of Ilorin, laid siege on Osogbo. When the king of Osogbo realized that the Ilorins were too strong for the Osogbo army, he summoned the Ibadans for help. Ibadan immediately sent some auxiliaries to Osogbo under the command of Obele alias Mobitan, and Alade Abimpagun.

As this force could not stop the Ilorins, another contingent was sent to Osogbo under a more experienced leader. But still the Ilorins won every battle and gained more ground.
When Ibadan realized that the Ilorins were becoming more threatening to Yoruba land, they sent a large and stronger force under Balogun Oderinlo to crush the intruding forces and Jammas of Ilorin. When Oderinlo and his men arrived at the battlefield, they realized that things had gone worse than they thought.

They could not show their faces in the open field for the fear of the Ilorin horses, and for about 20 days after their arrival at Osogbo, they could not fight outside the town thickets. Oderinlo suggested that Elepo, a brave Ibadan warrior was badly needed at the war-front. Elepo had been rejected by the war-chiefs of Ibadan for his actions at the late Agbamaja expedition

As soon as the message from Oderinlo reached Ibadan, the Bashorun wished he could send Elepo to Osogbo but could not go against the wish of other war-chiefs. The Bashorun gave Elepo a cow to worship his god, Ori, and pray for the victory of Ibadan at the war-front.
At the war-front, the Ibadan could not attack the Ilorins during the day because Osogbo was practically in a plain and the Ilorin horses might have advantage of them with disastrous results.

They decided to attack at dusk when the Ilorins would no longer be able to use their horses. About 2:pm, the well prepared Ibadan army left the gate of Osogbo for the battlefield. They were to keep a strict watch and arrest anyone suspected to be a spy. About a mile from the Ilorin camp, they halted and arranged the order of the attack. The Osogbo army and the earlier auxiliaries were to handle the center of the battlefield, chiefs Abitikoand Labuju were to command the right wing, Balogun Oderinlo with the rest of the Ibadan war-chiefs were to form the left wing of the army.

The Ilorin camp was then attacked at midnight. The watchword was “Elo ni owo odo?” (How much is the ferry fare?). The reason this watchword was chosen was because the river Osun had to be crossed in entering Osogbo from the south, and anyone who could not tell this was likely to be an enemy.

Stampede engulfed the Ilorin camp as the Ibadan army set it on fire. The Ilorins could not offer the slightest resistance; they were smoked with the gunpowder of the Ibadan guns. This attack was a success for the Ibadan. Some Ilorin war-chiefs were captured in the attack. Prominent ones were:

Jimba the head slave of the Emir;

One of the sons of Ali the commander in chief;

Chief Lateju;

Ajikobo the Yoruba Balogun of Ilorin.

The first two were released while the latter two, being Yoruba by birth, were regarded as traitors and were executed. This was a huge victory for the whole of Yoruba land. After the Osogbo victory, Ibokun, an Ijesa town not far from Osogbo was taken by the Ibadans for being an ally of Ilorin.

Iam Proud To Be A Feminist - Genevieve Nnaji Openly Declares

Iam Proud To Be A Feminist - Genevieve Nnaji Openly Declares

Nollywood actress and movie producer, Genevieve Nnaji has openly declared that she is a feminist and she is proud of her stand.

Genevieve Nnaji

Genevieve Nnaji has been a prominent fixture in the Nigerian film industry for over 20 years, primarily as an actor.

Her contributions to filmmaking have received several awards and nominations over the course of her career. In recent years, she has moved into film production, acting as writer, financier, and producer through her production company, The Entertainment Network (T.E.N). “Lionheart” is her directorial debut.

In an interview with Women and Hollywood, the star actress made many women and men in Nigeria and abroad proud as she aligned herself with the feminist movement.

When asked to name her favorite woman-directed film and why. She said; Patty Jenkins’ “Wonder Woman.” It was powerful and strong, and at the same time, feminine and s*xy.

"I’m a proud feminist who embraces her femininity. I feel sometimes women are made to feel self-conscious and ashamed of their womanhood. Perhaps like “Wonder Woman,” we may wake up one day to discover that it is our superpower, and then we would be unstoppable".

On the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements, the Nollywood diva said she has noticed; "How quickly the oppressed have risen to the top, and yet the train has not stopped. If anything, they continue to create amazing content."

"History has shown that in almost every situation where a group of people or a demographic is being oppressed, it’s usually because the oppressors are threatened by the potential of the oppressed to be great. I’m happy women all over the world are discovering their superpower and turning “why me?” into “not me.”

This is Seven Mistakes Newly Married Couples Should Avoid In Order To Have A Peaceful Home

This is Seven Mistakes Newly Married Couples Should Avoid In Order To Have A Peaceful Home

There are several common mistakes married couples make which ensure that their marriage gets off to a bad start. The good news is that these pitfalls can easily be avoided.

The day you get married is the happiest day of your life. It’s the day you have spent the last few years dreaming about, and everything  must go smoothly and perfectly just like you have dreamed it would. It is the day you will be gazing lovingly into the eyes of the love of your life while your heart is beating faster than it should. It is nothing short of bliss. Both of you are happy to have found each other.

But hard work lies ahead of you both to sustain your relationship. The thing is that marriage doesn’t come gift-wrapped. It  comes in kit form, which means that you and your partner have to work at things. And you will find out as the years roll by that in a marriage, there are often just as many lows as there are highs.

As much as couples would rather keep their marriage drama-free, the reality is that this is just not always possible.

However, there are several common mistakes married couples make which ensure that their marriage gets off to a bad start. The good news is that these pitfalls can easily be avoided.

Get your marriage off to an awesome start by avoiding these 10 mistakes:

Focusing on the wrong things

They say that there is no truer saying than life is what you make of it. But what does this phrase actually mean? It means different things to different people. If you focus on the bad stuff in life, your life will be negative.

If you focus on the good stuff, your life will be much more positive. It sounds so simple. Yet so many newly wed couples fall into the trap of getting annoyed by their partners’ failings. But instead of focusing on his penchant for lying in on a Sunday morning until noon or having a few beers after work when we want him home, why not focus on his good qualities a bit more?

Neglecting kind gestures

When you were dating, you both couldn’t stop showering each other with kindness. Don’t stop being kind to your partner because you have married them.

Insisting that you are always right

This is a big mistake that many couples make, and sometimes they prefer to be right than in love. Unfortunately, too many spouses are so insistent on being right that they compromise their marriage. A relationship is so much more than being right. Accept that mistakes happen. Accept that sometimes it’s okay not to be right – even if you are.

Getting too comfortable

Being comfortable with one another is perfect. But getting so comfortable that you stop putting in effort to make your relationship work is a bad thing. Once you stop putting the effort into your relationship now that you are married, the fizz disappears. The excitement goes. Don’t get too comfortable. Keep things edgy and spontaneous.

Failing to talk about money matters

Your money is no longer just yours. You can no longer take a cavalier attitude to savings and spending. You must talk about your budget with your partner as soon as you guys tie the knot. Arguments about money are the most explosive types.

Refusing to give your partner their space

If you adopt a “we’re married now therefore you’re mine and you have to spend all your time with me” attitude you’re going to kill your marriage before it’s even started. Sure, you now belong to one another. You share wedding rings, houses and maybe even bank accounts. But it doesn’t mean you have to do absolutely everything together. It’s important that you still give your partner some space. Let air into the relationship by doing things independent of one another.

Expecting them to be just like you

We all take to marriage differently. Marriage is a big step in anyone’s life, and although you two are taking the step together, it doesn’t mean you’re going to think and act in exactly the same way. Look, there will be disagreements about how to do things. Their habits and expectations of marriage will probably vary to yours. Don’t expect everything to be absolutely perfect and harmonious.

If you do, you will
only find it difficult to react when things don’t go your way. Talk to each other about things. If you have concerns, raise them. But always listen to what they have to say.

Very Soon Oyigbo Will Be Cut Off From Port Harcourt And Aba Residence If Care Is Not Taken

Very Soon Oyigbo Will Be Cut Off From Port Harcourt And Aba Residence If Care Is Not Taken

Residents living around the Oyigbo axis of the Aba-Port Harcourt expressway on Friday cried out over the poor state of the express road.

They said that the poor state of the road has almost cut off the local government from easily accessing Aba and Port Harcourt towns, stressing that the constant daily downpour has made things difficult for those working in Port Harcourt to go work daily.

However, the federal government through the minister of works, in May, said rehabilitation work on the road will commence soon. But the state government said that such claims are political as it has frequently called the attention of the federal government to the bad state of the road with nothing tangible done about it.

According to the residents, the Port-Aba road has not been maintained in years and has caused frequent damages to vehicles, especially the heavy ones as they fall on a daily basis and cause long traffic on the road.

They called on the state government through the ministry of works and the federal government through the National Road Maintenance Agency, NEMA, to as a matter of urgency, look into the road to alleviate the suffering of commuters plying the road.

Unbelievable! Wicked Uncle Burns His Niece's Face, Breasts For stealing N3000 (Photos)

Unbelievable! Wicked Uncle Burns His Niece's Face, Breasts For stealing N3000 (Photos)

A wicked uncle has found himself in trouble with the law after he brutally burned his neice's breasts and face with an hot iron over alleged theft.

One Effiong Sunday has been dragged to the police for burning his 13-year-old niece breast and face with a hot pressing iron in Bayelsa State.

According to Onyido Victor who took to Facebook to report the incident, the uncle brutalized his niece on Tuesday, September 5, 2018, at Brass street, Etegwe Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

The girl had been falsely accused of stealing the N3k from a neighbour, however, she denied the allegation. The uncle was said to have insisted that she must tell him the truth and he started beating her.

He later removed her cloth and started burning her with a hot pressing iron. Fortunately, the neighbour eventually found his money where he kept it, but despite the injuries, Sunday didn’t bother to take the victim to the hospital.

An NGO, DO FOUNDATION, chaired by Barrister Dise Ogbesi Sheila, was eventually notified and the girl was taken to the Ekeki police station. Sunday and his wife were, subsequently, invited, while the girl is now receiving treatment.

A CASE OF CHILD ABUSE

The gory picture above is that of a little girl of thirteen years old from Akwa Ibom state that lives with her uncle, one Mr Effiong Sunday at Brass street Etegwe Yenagoa Bayelsa State.

On Tuesday 5th September 2018 the little girl was accused of stealing three thousand naira from her next door neighbor. After questioning and interrogation from her Uncle (Mr Sunday Effiong) the little girl said she didn't steal any money.

The uncle insisted that she must tell him the truth and he started beating her up mercilessly. Later he removed her cloths and started burning her with a hot pressing Iron that she must tell him the whereabout of the money. According to the little girl, he continued to burn her face and breast with the hot pressing Iron and she accepted she stole the money under duress.

The painful side of the story is that the neighbor eventually found his money where he kept it.

Despite the injuries he inflicted on the little girl, her uncle didn't bother to take her to the hospital for treatment.

The following morning being Friday 7 September, neighbors started frowning and spreading the story after seeing the injuries on the girl.

The information got to Mr Numoipre Benson Ayah, Tony Owei Angagha and my humble self and we decided to see what we could do to help the little girl.

We contacted DO FOUNDATION, an NGO that is into CHILD ABUSE and other related matters chaired by Barrister Dise Ogbesi Sheila and her second Excel Bright

The little girl was taken to the Ekeki police station. Mr Sunday Effiong and his wife were invited for interrogation by the Gender Desk Office.

The little girl is now receiving treatment in the hospital Courtesy of DO FOUNDATION.

While we await justice we say a big thank you to barrister Dise ogbesi Sheila and Excel bright of DO FOUNDATION for their swift intervention, we also say a big thank you to the police, doctors and others that are concerned in the little girl's plight.
