Should Jose Turn To Young Youth?

MASTER REPORTERS GLOBAL NEWS
Bringing to you Breaking news from around the globe.

Jose Mourinho should turn to youth and take a more long-term strategy to catching Manchester City, Jason Burt told The Debate.

Manchester United were high on the agenda for Tuesday's show, on the back of their defeat in the Manchester derby last weekend, after which Mourinho suggested their opponents had enjoyed an easier week leading up to the game.
After the match, Graeme Souness and Gary Neville debated whether Mourinho was getting the best out of his squad, which includes nearly £400m of his own signings since he arrived at the club in the summer of 2016 - with only two of those arrivals starting in the derby.

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have found themselves in and out of the side at Old Trafford, with the latter reportedly close to leaving United in the past, although he has recently found form.

Burt told The Debate Mourinho's short-term approach to catching United's rivals was proving the wrong one - and that he should concentrate on utilising the tools he has been given.

He said: "What's alarming them quite a lot at United is this trend emerging with him of bringing in players, but then giving up on them. Alexis Sanchez arrived and now where is he? There are stories that he wants to leave and that Jose's disenchanted with him.

"I think what's happened is that he's gone in there, and usually has had a quick impact and done well, won trophies in his first year and won the league in his second.
"It's not happening now. It's like he's accelerating that process, thinking I've got to make this better - but actually he might be better stepping back and thinking this is going to take some time now, we're going to go with these younger players and take some time to catch Manchester City. They're not going to do it the way he's doing it at the moment."
Sky Sports commentator and former Arsenal striker Alan Smith added Mourinho had lost his way since joining Manchester United, having won league titles with every other club he has been at since Porto in the early 2000s.

"He's not the coach that he was, he doesn't seem to be the personality that he was," he said. "That personality would drag players with him through a brick wall, as he did at Chelsea - Frank Lampard and John Terry still eulogise about him, his managerial powers. But he seems to have lost that.

"The contrast with Pep Guardiola is striking, when you think about Raheem Sterling and how he's brought him on as a player. There's a number of performers in that City team he has worked really hard on. They were really good to begin with, but things are happening at City that just aren't at United."

Senegal Set To Be The First African Nation To Host Olympic Event Come 2022

Senegal Set To Be The First African Nation To Host Olympic Event Come 2022

Senegal will be confirmed as host of the 2022 Summer Youth Olympic Games next month after being backed by the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) Executive Board.

The country was one of four nations in the frame for the event after the IOC agreed to proactively pursue an African host for the Games in February.

Botswana, Nigeria and Tunisia were also interested with an Evaluation Commission able to recommend a maximum of two bidders prior to a vote at October's IOC Session in Buenos Aires.

But the Executive Board has decided today that only Senegal will progress.

A vote will still take place in Argentina's capital but this is considered a formality and simply a rubber-stamping exercise.

Senegal's bid was centered around three locations - capital city Dakar, the new city of Diamniadio and the coastal resort of Saly.

It will be the first Olympic Games of any type in Africa.

"It is time for Africa," said IOC President Thomas Bach.

"Africa is the home of many successful and prominent Olympic athletes.

"Africa is a continent of youth.

"That is why we want to take the Youth Olympic Games 2022 to Africa and to Senegal.

"They have offered a project based on a strong vision for youth and sport.

The IOC opted to actively pursue a host from Africa ©IOC

"There are many opportunities, and we will endeavour to deliver together, as part of a strong partnership, visionary, responsible and inspiring Youth Games."

IOC vice president Uğur Erdener chaired the Evaluation Commission which visited all four of the candidates.

"The IOC was fortunate to have four quality partners representing the African continent in the Youth Olympic Games 2022 host selection process," he said.

"All four candidates have the capability of delivering successful Youth Olympic Games and offer many opportunities."

Senegal have promised to tie in their hosting with the country's "overarching development strategy", notably the Government's "Emerging Senegal" plan which envisions "major economic and infrastructure improvements".

Botswana's project would have centered around capital Gaborone and pledged to "help achieve the country’s long-term vision for young people and sport".

The Nigerian bid was said to have "fully aligned with the national sports and youth strategy" and would have seen events in capital Abuja.

Tunisia wanted to stage their events in Tunis, La Soukra, Radès and Yasmine-Hammamet, in line with a Government goal to "empower" young people.

Their bid was controversial, however, with the IOC telling the country that they would not be considered before measures were in place to allow Israeli athletes to compete without discrimination.

The IOC first decided to find an African host at their Session on the sidelines of the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics.

It is hoped the 2022 Games could pave the way for an eventual Summer Olympics in Africa.

Buneos Aires is also hosting this year's Summer Youth Olympics, between October 6 and 18.

The Session in Argentina's capital is set for October 8 and 9.

Lionel Messi has stepped down from Agentina Football Team 'Untill then'

Lionel Messi has stepped down from Agentina Football Team 'Untill then'

Posted by Odinaka

Despite the fact the Barcelona legend is arguably the greatest to have ever played the game, he doesn't receive universal adoration in his homeland.

Lionel Messi

Legendary Argentina captain, Lionel Messi has chosen to step down from international football "until further notice," according to TNT Sports.

Having failed to take the World Cup title in his fourth attempt this summer, the Barcelona star has made himself unavailable for selection in Argentina's upcoming friendlies.

The decision, which has the consent of AFA president, Claudio Tapia and interim coach, Lionel Scaloni, will remain in place for the rest of 2018 and, indeed, until Messi decides otherwise.

The country's losses in three consecutive finals between 2014 and 2016 - two Copa Americas and one World Cup - didn't exactly help Messi's case.

Lionel Messi reportedly tells interim Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni "I appreciate it but no" to Argentina call-up. https://t.co/o9fimNVmPr

— Roy Nemer (@RoyNemer) August 15, 2018

He briefly retired from the national team, before returning and single-handedly guiding them to the 2018 World Cup, where they really struggled.

Messi managed just one goal in Russia as Argentina crashed out in the last-16 and there has been a lot of speculation about the 31-year-old's international future.

And last night, reports came from Argentina declaring that Messi is taking a break from the team despite interim manager Lionel Scaloni trying to convince him.

Super Eagles chief coach Salisu Yusuf, caught bribing players on camera

Super Eagles chief coach Salisu Yusuf, caught bribing players on camera

July 24, 2018

Nigeria’s Super Eagles chief coach, Salisu Yusuf, is set to face the combined wrath of FIFA, CAF and the NFF after he was caught on camera taking cash to influence players’ selection.

The footage, which was released by BBC Africa Eye, was captured by Ghanaian journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas in September 2017.  In the video, Yusuf was seen taking cash from men posing as football agents.

Yusuf, who is the chief coach of the Super Eagles, and first assistant during the World Cup, is due to lead the national team to the Olympics in 2020. He was in charge of the Super Eagles Team B to the 2017 WAFU and 2018 CHAN where they lost in both finals.

The supposed football agents for some players approached Yusuf in September 2017 for a conversation about players’ selection. During the conversation, they handed the Nigerian coach N360, 000 ($1000) and alluded to more cash incentives if he selects their players for CHAN 2018 which held in Morocco.

Chelsea operating to signal £89.3million megastar as Eden threat requests real Madrid transfer

Chelsea operating to signal £89.3million megastar as Eden threat requests real Madrid transfer

Jul 22, 2019

Chelsea are reportedly working to seal the transfer of Manchester United forward Anthony Martial as Eden Hazard pushes to join Real Madrid.

Bayern Munich are also said to be in the running for the France international, though neither club is prepared to fork out the £89.3million United want for him.

MORE: Chelsea in talks over selling another big name after transfer approach from La Liga giants

Martial has had an up-and-down few seasons at Old Trafford, but is generally regarded as one of the game’s biggest young talents.

It is easy to imagine the 22-year-old might look a great deal more convincing at a different club and under a different manager, having been played in an unfamiliar wide role under the demanding Jose Mourinho.

Martial could do much better under an attack-minded manager like Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea, who seem to be preparing for Hazard to leave Stamford Bridge.

Eden Hazard wanted by Real Madrid but Chelsea struggling to land replacement

The Times claim the Belgian has asked to leave west London for a move to the Spanish capital, though the report  has it that  the Blues insist they will not be bullied into a sale.

This particular transfer saga seems very much up in the air, but if Chelsea refuse to pay up for Martial, or if United hang on to him and don’t budge on his asking price, it seems fairly likely CFC will not allow a player as important as Hazard to leave.

Anthony Martial is Chelsea’s prime target to replace Eden Hazard

The Times add that Willian is another player attracting interest, and surely losing two attackers without replacing them would be a suicidal move from the west Londoners.

Breaking- France carry the world cup, bit Colossia 4-2

France won the Fifa World Cup for the second time by overcoming Croatia’s bold challenge in a thrilling final in Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium. Didier Deschamps’ side repeated the success on home soil at France ’98 by a victory margin that hardly looked possible as Croatia stood toe-to-toe with the favourites for an hour. Croatia also felt their luck deserted them, but ultimately France ran out victorious to erase the memories of the loss to Portugal in the Euro 2016 final in Paris.

In one of the most exciting World Cup finals of the modern era, played out to a soundtrack of thunder and lightning, Croatia and France delivered a enthralling spectacle that brought the highest goal tally in a final since 1966, a pitch invasion, and a controversial intervention from the video assistant referee that had a huge influence on the outcome.

France took the lead after 18 minutes when Antoine Griezmann’s free-kick deflected in off Mario Mandzukic’s head – but Croatia were by far the better side in the first half and deservedly equalised courtesy of Ivan Perisic’s left-foot finish.

Croatia were left nursing a burning sense of injustice when France restored their lead seven minutes before half-time through Griezmann’s penalty, awarded by referee Nestor Pitana for handball against Perisic after a lengthy delay while VAR was consulted.

In a compelling second half, France looked to have wrapped it up with two strikes in six minutes from Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappe either side of the hour mark. Croatia, however, showed unbreakable spirit and even threatened a comeback when Mandzukic took advantage of France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris hesitating over a clearance to pull a goal back. France closed out the win to bring redemption for Deschamps after defeat at the Euros two years ago, sparking wild celebrations and ensuring Lloris lifted the World Cup.

An air horn went off to cheers at the first appearance of the teams in the tunnel.

The Swedish countrywide anthem was greeted with boos and groans. Through contrast, “God store The Queen” become belted out in a complete-throated rendition.

Every participant’s look on the group line-up was cheered.

A decent first 15 minutes quietened the mood but captain Harry Kane’s first shot within the 19th minute fired matters up once more.

And the vicinity erupted when Maguire headed England into a 1-0 lead, with beer flying everywhere, gallons dropping rain as humans roared in celebration.

The goal induced chants of “I’m England till I die” as humans danced and partied.

As time ticked on, the nervousness dimmed and the celebration ought to start. Couples commenced to smooch.

A television shot of a dejected-searching Swedish female induced cheers.

And there had been in addition cheers whilst a 90th-minute Swedish unfastened kick sailed over the bar.

However that was nothing as compared to the final whistle, when human beings bounced round once more, with beer, garments, limitations and bodies tumbling round to any other chorus of “football’s coming home!”

Spain put behind their poor start to the 2018 World Cup to secure a hard fought win 1-0 over Iran in their second game of the 2018 World Cup Group B fixture staged at the Kazan’ Arena, thanks to a Diego Costa strike. Despite managing 81.1% possession in during the opening first period against Iran with both Isco (55) and Sergio Ramos (53) completing more passes than Iran (49), Spain had could only manage one attempted on target until Diego Costa broke the deadlock in the opening nine minutes of the second half. The Atletico Madrid man has now scored with all three of his shots on target at World Cup tournaments – his 10th for the national team in his 22nd appearance.

Spain failed to make a mark during their Group’s second game against Iran on Wednesday. Iran played a more defensive game to hold the star-studded side to a goalless draw in the first 45 minutes. Pique missed a header at the 10th minute, a free kick by David Silva was too high for the Barcelona man’s head to reach. Diego Costa was fouled multiple times close to the 18-yard box at the 22nd minute which birthed a freekick from a dangerous angle that was captured by Alireza Beiranvand, though a deflection occurred. An Iran equaliser was canceled after due consultation with the VAR which was an obvious side.
