Bashir Tofa to Buhari free Nasturah’s immediately

An elder statesman and former presidential candidate of the National Republican Convention, NRC, Bashir Tofa, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to order the release of the convener of Katsina protest, Nasturah Ashir Sheriff.

Recall that Mr Sheriff, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Coalition of Northern Groups, CNGs, was allegedly arrested by the police for organising a series of protests against the killing of innocent people by bandits in Katsina State.

Condemning the arrest through a statement on Wednesday, Mr Tofa advised the President to offer an ‘unreserved apology’ to Mr Sheriff, “before an avoidable conflagration consumes the entire North and eventually, the country”.

According to him, the arrest and detention of Mr Sheriff is utterly wrong, undemocratic and a very bad example of intolerance.

He said: “It is unwise and unjust. Not even during sensible and caring Military Rules, would citizens demonstrate peacefully about a matter that worries the entire country, and anyone be arrested.

“Is this a notice that nobody is allowed to say anything or to express a view, even peacefully? Is this the Democracy Nigeria is showing to the world? We hope not.”

The erstwhile NRC presidential candidate, also pointed out that so many people are angry about so many things.

“If this collective anger is tickled and pushed by a few who may have started some illegal action somewhere, it will easily spread.

“The 2011 violence, destruction and death that occurred when it was rumoured that Gen. Muhammad Buhari was denied his victory will be a child’s play this time around.

“Nigerians are very angry! Insecurity everywhere, poverty, joblessness and now Covid-19, disease, despair and desperation have eaten deep into people’s patience and good sense.”

Mr Tofa maintained that for the police or the security services to arrest anyone over the peaceful demonstration, is not only illegal, but a deliberate attempt to dishonour this Government and cause more hatred against it.“

Just today, because of Nasturah’s uncalled for arrest, I have the nasty and angry, often abusive words, uttered against the President by hitherto his supporters.

“President Buhari should be very careful. He should begin to know and appreciate his true and sincere friends, and get rid of his enemies, who do tremendous harm to his image and his own future well-being and safety.

“He must remember that in three years, someone else will be President. I, and millions of other Nigerians, condemn the arrest of Nasturah Sheriff and other Nigerians who were either killed or injured simply because they came out to demonstrate and make their views known in a peaceful manner.

“We demand Nasturah’s immediate release, and all those in detention for such purposes. We are in a Democracy,” the ex-NRC chieftain said.

IF YOU THINK SO, KNOW SO BY OBINNA ONWUELINGO

Why does an average apology sound this way " I am sorry, I thought............? When are we going to stop "thinking" and start knowing?

'It is impossible for a man to learn what he thinks he already knows" - Epictetus

I remember during the Covid 19 lock down, when a picture of a little boy drinking water from a  UNDP water tank supposedly meant for hand washing started trending on social media with captions like "How do we wash our hands when we don"t  have water to drink",and within a few days almost everyone one I knew updated their status with the same picture and statement which suggested that the boy drank water meant for washing of hands because of hunger and thirst. I felt compelled to join the band wagon, after-all, I am human and seeing such a little boy in that state was heart wrenching but then I decided to google the same picture and behold within 1 minute I realized the picture was taken in Dafur region some years ago during the refugee crises and that the small water tank was actually drinking water. (I don't think you heard me, I said within the space of "One minute" )

Now, imagine the countless times you have carried one news or thought or opinion from here to Australia only to realize that what you have held on to for years was a lie or a distorted fact. Imagine the number of relationships that have been lost simply because we stopped at "thinking". In my opinion, thinking is a raw material while knowing is a finished product. Thinking is not an end in itself rather it is a process. Didn't the bible tell us to test all spirits ? (1 John 4:1) why then are we all guilty of thinking without making extra effort to say "I know so rather than I think so"?

How many of us if accused of killing somebody yesterday would say "I think so"? I am sure we would refute the allegation with everything we've got simply because "We know so". Why are we so quick to run with information about other people without at least  putting ourselves in the person's shoes, checking for inconsistencies, understanding the circumstances surrounding the action or the motives of the story teller.

"An apology for the devil; It must be remembered that we have heard one side of the case" - Samuel Butler.

My bible (Which I firmly believe in) tells me that the devil is the father of all lies (John 8;44 ) so I do not intend to dwell on the literal meaning of the quote above by Samuel Buttler but it is important to take some learning points from his line of thought which is that no matter how much we may love the figment of our imagination or how well what we think fits into our story or purpose, we must go a step further to confirm the veracity of these thoughts.

To think becomes positive when it drives us into deeper knowledge that we no longer think but know.

Imagine how apologies would sharply decline when we stop thinking for people, when we stop Judging them by our standards instead of theirs.

Nwodo calls out Igbo youths, asking them to be diplomatic

President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, has asked Igbo youths and other pro-Biafra agitators to employ diplomacy in their quest for self- determination.

Nwodo, who said that Ndigbo were not known for violence, advised the youths to continue to maintain decorum and peace no matter the level of provocation.

The Ohanaeze leader gave the advice when he kicked off distribution of Covid-19 palliatives procured by the president of the youths arm of the group, Arthur Obioha, for the young Igbo. The materials which included rice, beans, organic fertilizer and seedlings were meant for distribution to Igbo youths across the country.

At the kick off of the distribution at the national secretariat of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Enugu, Nwodo insisted that Ndigbo should think inwards and create opportunities for the survival of its people, so as to reduce dependence on other parts of the country for survival and development. He said: “There are two kinds of war that face us as a people in this country. They include hunger and ignorance.”

“America has drone technology and can go to war without firing a gun. The power of knowledge is the new way. The entire knowledge of the world is inside a computer. This is an area our people must invest resources and time in.

“We have to know that our strength lies in our knowledge and in our capacity to deploy it. We can deploy the same strength and resources used for Biafra in improving knowledge and technology to be able to get our people into gainful employment,” Nwodo said. He praised Obioha for the gesture, stressing that empowering Igbo youths, especially at the time of the ravaging coronavirus would make them shun crimes.

Obioha stated that the palliatives were procured in conjunction with the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and other Igbo organizations.

According to him, the organic fertilizers were procured from Thailand and crop seedlings from Philippines to enable the youths go into agriculture.
“We want to curb hunger and our plan is to ensure that a bag of rice is sold for not higher than N1000 in this country. This is to support the fight against hunger, poverty and unemployment in the Southeast n this article:

The Price Of Rice Will Totally Come Down Before Christmas - Govt Assures Nigerians

MASTER REPORTERS GLOBAL NEWS

Breaking the news from around the globe.

The National Food Security Council (NFSC), chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari, says it will make rice available before Christmas, TheCable reports.

Atiku Bagudu, governor of Kebbi and the deputy chairman of the council, told NAN in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, that the council is aware of the current high prices of rice.

According to the governor, the government is also aware of the activities of some individuals and groups bent on frustrating the new rice policy.

“The good news is that there is a lot of production in the country. All the millers in Nigeria have enough paddy and farmers are producing and the harvest is coming in strong,” he said.

“We believe in addition to market forces, there are some people bent on manipulating the situation in order to exploit bigger revenue, bigger profits and some may even be doing so for the wrong reason.

“They want to truncate policy which is helping the Nigerian economy; which is helping Nigerian millers; which is helping the Nigerian farmers and the Nigerian population.

“We are taking steps to ensure that more rice is taken to markets where shortages can easily be created.

“There is enough product in the country and the National Food Security Council is focused on how to ensure that availability is restored all across the country so that prices will come down reflective of the cost of production.”

Since the country’s land borders were closed and forex restricted for the importation of rice, a 50kg bag of the commodity has increased to an average of N22,000 from N14,000.

On the reported loss of about N1 billion by onion farmers in Kebbi state, Bagudu said the government would always respond to farmers’ predicaments promptly.

He disclosed that the federal government had approved N23billion for distribution to states affected by floods.

“For the onion farmers, they have calculated that the rain will stop by September because when onion is growing there is a point at which it does not desire rainfall, now we have rainfall,” he said.

“I’m not sure of the N1 billion loss in terms of the quantum because we have not done the assessment but we are always willing and ready to support all our producers especially when they are faced with unforeseen circumstances like this.”

Bagudu was on the entourage of Buhari’s official visit to Saudi Arabia which ended on Saturday.

Others governors on the entourage included Babagana Zulum of Borno and Aminu Masari of Katsina.

Nigeria Means Nothing But Area Of Darkness Or Black Out - Fani kayode

Nigeria Means Nothing But Area Of Darkness Or Black Out - Fani kayode

MASTER REPORTERS GLOBAL NEWS

Breaking the news from around the globe.

By Chief Femi Fani-Kayode

The Former minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, took his social media to explain the full meaning of Nigeria.

READ BELOW;

1. Port Harcourt was named after a British man named Lord Lewis Vernon Harcourt who was a rapist and a paedophile.

History records that he enjoyed to have sexual liasons with both underage girls AND boys.

Simply put, he was a sadistic pervert and a sex maniac who could not control his lustful passions.

After he was exposed and faced with public condemnation he committed suicide in his London home on February 24 1922.

Rivers state please CHANGE the name of your capital!

2. Lord Frederick Lugard and wife Flora Shaw gave Nigeria her name. History records that they were both closet Lucifereans who were members of numerous underground satanist and devil-worshipping societies, covens and temples. Their union was childless and Lugard was cremated in a thorougly bizarre, mystical and ritualistic ceremony when he died.

The meaning of the word “NIGERIA” from the latin word “NIGER” (meaning “BLACK”) is “BLACK AREA, AREA OF DARKNESS OR BLACK SPOT”.

Most African nations changed their names after independence. Sadly Nigeria did not. I guess that explains a lot about why things are the way they are in our country. Can anything good come out of darkness?

3. Sir George Dashwood Taubman Goldie KCMG FRS played a major role in the founding of Nigeria.

Although his importance in West Africa equalled that of Cecil John Rhodes in South Africa he differed from Rhodes in his preference for obscurity: he destroyed his papers and pronounced a curse on any of his children or anyone else should they write about him and specifically about his role in the founding of Nigeria after his death.

I have often wondered why the man that is undoubtedly the real father of the Nigerian nation-state would place a curse on his children or anyone else that may endeavour to write about what, to all intents and purposes, was his greatest achievement.

After 12 years of meditation and research I have finally come to the conclusion that it was because he did not want to go down in history as being the father of an “area of darkness”, a cursed state and jinxed union which was designed and destined to fail right from the start.

I believe that Goldie knew and saw Nigeria as something of an offering to the devil. This was a man–made and artificial entity which was set up only to serve the commercial, pecuniary and mercantile interests of the British empire and which had clearly diabolical foundations and an equally diabolical and Luciferean name.

It was clear to him that one day, if this strange, hybrid entity of incompatible bedfellows and irreconcilable strangers remained together, it would turn into hell on earth and become a reference point for incompetence, failure, shame and all manner of abomination, savagery, wickedness and barbarity.

He did not want history to remember, record or associate him with the Frankenstein monster that he had created. I guess he was a smart man who saw far ahead but unfortunatrly for him the cat is now out of the bag.

What Sir George Goldie, Lord Lugard, Flora Shaw, Lord Harcourt and the British monarchs and colonial authorities did to us by creating this monsterous mongrel state and insisting that it must remain together as one will never be forgotten.

Their names will go down in the halls of infamy forever.

Insecurity: Some Soldiers Are Now Working Hand To Hand With Kidnappers - Abaribe Cries Out

MASTER REPORTERS GLOBAL NEWS

Breaking the news from around the globe.

Enyinnaya Abaribe, senator representing Abia south, have accused soldiers of “helping kidnappers” in the country.

Abaribe made the accusation while contributing on a motion on insecurity along Abuja-Lokoja road during senate plenary session on Wednesday.

He also decried the cases of insecurity in parts of the country, saying Nigeria is in a “very big and difficult situation.”

The senator recalled an instance when soldiers were deployed to help fight kidnapping in Abia state, and said the reverse is now the case where the victims cannot be handed over to soldiers for safety.

Abaribe said: “What else do we do asides getting up and making this presentation? As I stand before you, I do not know but I can only say what is that abnormal thing we will do?

“I know on this floor when I was on the other side, sometime in 2008, we raised a motion on Abia state and the president agreed and sent soldiers. They helped reduce the kidnapping.

“But all of a sudden, we now see that some soldiers are helping kidnappers which we can’t even say let us handover to them. We are in a very big and difficult situation. We sympathise with the people killed.”

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senator further said many lawmakers have abandoned the Abuja-Kaduna road because of insecurity, adding: “This means we have yielded to the bandits. Some state governments have even gone to negotiate with the bandits.”

Dino Melaye, lawmaker representing Kogi west, who sponsored the motion, said the Abuja-Kaduna road has been plagued with various cases of kidnapping and complained adequate attention has not been paid to the road.

He called on the upper legislative chamber to enforce “citizen diplomacy” to ensure the lives of citizens are well protected.

God have withdrawn his protective power from Nigeria, Osibanjo warns ahead of the 59th anniversary

As Nigeria celebrates its 59th anniversary of independence on Tuesday, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has asked citizens to have faith in the country, saying God has withdrawn His protective cover from the enemies of the nation.

Speaking at an interdenominational service to commemorate the anniversary Sunday evening in Abuja, Osinbajo said the turbulence and upheavals that Nigeria currently experience are the last gasps of defeated foes.

He said; “God has promised through the mouth of his trusted prophet that he is giving us a new Nigeria. May I announce to you today that God is ready to take us to the promised land. We must remember that the Almighty God is the builder of the nation. God controls the destiny of nations and their people.

“He narrated how God had promised to take the Children of Israel out of bondage, suffering and slavery and bring them into the promised land, flowing with milk and honey. By the hands of Joshua, God brought the promise to pass. He noted, however, how some who were asked to spy the land come back to declare that it was impossible to take the land because of the giants there.

“They said it was impossible to take the land, the problems were gigantic, the issues too many, however, Caleb and Joshua had a different spirit. They said that because God had promised and because he could do it, the problems were just bread. – a mere bread to be eaten by the children of Israel.

“God has also promised us a new Nigeria, a peaceful Nigeria, a prosperous Nigeria, a Nigeria where justice, equity and fairness shall prevail, a United Nigeria. Where the different tribes and tongues are not the reason for separation, but joyful textures of our togetherness. God is ready to fulfil his promise.

“We stand outside a new city, a promised land a new Nigeria and like the spies sent by Moses, some are saying it is impossible, Nigeria cannot change, the ethnic and religious divisions are too deep, corruption cannot end, politicians are too selfish, too mischievous. Yet like Caleb and Joshua, if we, declare that these problems are merely bread for us, a new Nigeria is here. And each and every one of us, our families, our friends, all of us will eat the fruits of the land . God Almighty has taken away the protection of the enemies of this nation, he has taken away their powers, the noise we hear, the turbulence that we experience, are the last gasps of the defeated foes. The days of freedom is at the door. We reach for the new Nigeria which it’s builder and maker is God. As we wait as it is declared in Psalms 46: 11”, Osinbajo stated.

Also speaking, Nigeria’s former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon noted that in the midst of the various inflicted challenges in Nigeria today, “we can come together in the unity of faith to salvage the nation from its woes.

According to him, prayer still remains the key to salvage Nigeria’s personal, family and national challenges, and that citizens must appreciate those who are committed to ensuring law and order, peace and stability in the nation.

“For the police, army and other security agencies, this is the charge; you have to make sure that by the next independence celebration, there is no disorder in this country. I strongly believe there is hope for our great nation through our collective prayers, hard work, selfless and transparent leadership, and patriotic citizenry. By the grace of God, Nigeria shall fulfil her destiny. We should not be discouraged, we are at the threshold of a breakthrough and the dawn of history. Under our collective watch and prayer, Nigeria shall recover and rise again”, he added.

God Is Going To Rewrite Nigeria's History Very Soon - Kumuyi Assures Nigerians

MASTER REPORTERS GLOBAL NEWS

Breaking the news from around the globe

Says;  we are United by the cross

The General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM), Pastor William Kumuyi has called for renewed hope in God, saying the Lord will rewrite the history of the church in Nigeria, following the wave of divine visitation, spiritual awakening and unprecedented revival currently moving across the church in Lagos.

He gave the assurance at the Ministers’ Development and Networking Summit held at the African Bethel Cathedral, Ikorodu in conjunction with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

The programme, which was tagged ‘Growing your Church, was designed to break all denominational barriers and empower the body of Christ not just in Lagos State, but also across the federation.

At the summit, Kumuyi said denominational barriers had been the bane of the church in Nigeria, noting that the barriers had rendered it unproductive to deliver the heavenly divine purpose of winning the world to Christ.

Instead of fighting a common enemy, he said: “we are fighting one another. We are looking down on one another. We are pushing one another until the church is not even sure on which ground it stands.

He explained that the vision of the summit “is to make the church in Nigeria strong by injecting power into the local churches. The body of Christ in Nigeria is losing relevance, hence the need to develop the ministers especially at the grassroots.”

Speaking on undeniable power of united faith in the Saviour’, Kumuyi explained that the church in Nigeria “must be united in faith to lead sinners to the Saviour, Jesus Christ. Recovery will come by leading the people to their Saviour. The pursuit is to make the body of Christ strong in Nigeria.”

Taking his text from Mark 2:1-12, Kumuyi urged the church to manifest the same faith the friends of the man who was sick of the palsy manifested that got the man healed. They lowered through the roof the bed on which the sick man laid for Christ to heal him.

According to the cleric, to cause the desired revival in Nigeria and win souls for the kingdom of God, the church must manifest “United unwavering purpose, unselfish pursuit, unrepentant perseverance, unbreakable partnership, unabated passion and unusual procedure.”

He said that the manifestation of the above would open heaven’s door for “uncommon possibilities, uncommon miracles and uncommon breakthroughs” through the church.

The Bishop of Lagos West Missionary Diocese, African Church, Rev. Akin Ajayi, said the summit provides an opportunity for ministers to train themselves, stating that it was a divine blessing for the ministers to develop and grow their local church.

“We believe that with what we have heard today, the church will continue to grow stronger than before, and we believe that things will change and there will be peace in every area of our lives, provided we have faith because the Lord is our God of faith,” he said.

Ajayi urged ministers “to humble themselves before God. For Pastor Kumuyi to have come to Ikorodu; that means he has humbled himself and we should all learn from him. I believe there is nobody God cannot use. If you allow God to take charge of your life, he will definitely deliver you and grant you whatever you think is impossible in your life.”

On the 59th Independence , Ajayi urged Nigerians “to imbibe the fear of God to experience divine peace. People have been shouting freedom, independence but it seems we are still in bondage, but if we move closer to God and have faith in God, the Lord will definitely grant divine freedom; independence to Nigeria as a whole and to Lagos State in particular.”

The Chairman CAN in Ikorodu Division, Pastor Emmanuel Adegoke, said the church in Nigeria should break all the walls of barriers and make sure it becomes one.

“We are united by the cross; we are united by that message and divine commission

Nigeria Is About To Break-up, Do Something - Cleric Tells Buhari

Breaking the news from around the globe.

The Catholic Bishop of Kaduna Archdiocese, Most Reverend Mathew Man’oso Ndagoso has expressed deep concern over the spate of insecurity across the country, saying that the nation is at a crossroad and that President Muhammadu Buhari must Wake up to his responsibility of providing security for the citizenry.

This was even as lay people in the catholic council of Nigeria called for the restructuring of the country for efficient management of security matter if the present structure of the nation has proved too difficult for agencies to handle.

Bishop Ndagoso fielded questions from newsmen shortly before the commencement of 142 National Executive Council (NEC) meeting by Catholic Laity Council of Nigeria (CLCN) yesterday in Kaduna.

The theme of the occasion was titled, “Unifying Nigeria’s Divergent Diversity for National Cohesion and Greatness”.

While addressing the council, the national president of CLCN, Thomas Adekoya lamented that insecurity has bastardised the image of Nigeria before the local and international communities.

Adekoya, therefore, called on government, “as a matter of urgency, initiate moves for the restructuring of the country and saddle the federating units, which we suggest should be the six geopolitical zones, to secure themselves”.

However, Bishop Ndagoso advised that since the general election was over, President Buhari must ensure proper national integration of the country.

“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common with unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated failures. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.” – Calvin Coolidge

“To choose the right moment in which to act is the great art of men…” Napolean Bonaparte

I have been watching the fast pace with which the so-called country of Nigeria has been tumbling towards tragedy. I have been watching the tragedy it has become for its peoples. I have been watching the disgrace it has become for those who carry its green passports. I have reached the conclusion that salvaging Nigeria is a mission impossible. I have reached the conclusion that breaking up Nigeria is the only viable option. There is no other way out.

I am aware that there are many who mouth UNITY every day when in fact they do not believe in it. I am aware there are people who keep chanting that TRIBALISM is our bane when indeed it is our real strength. I am aware that most of us like to be politically correct and say, Nigeria must unite when in fact we all know that breaking it up is the best thing for the peoples of this geographical expression.

I look through the various component ethnic groups in Nigeria and I am not able to identify a single one that expresses satisfaction. The Edo is not satisfied. The Mumuye is not satisfied. The Ibiobio is not satisfied. The Efik is not satisfied. The Anang is not satisfied. The Ijaw is not satisfied. The Igbo is not satisfied. The Nupe is not satisfied. The Agatu is not satisfied. The Magale is not satisfied. The Yoruba is not satisfied. The Kataf is not satisfied. The Kanuri is not satisfied. The Ogoni is not satisfied. The Karekare is not satisfied. The Tiv is not satisfied. The Khana is not satisfied. The Lamang is not satisfied. Even the Hausa-Fulani is not satisfied.

It is my view that the silent majority are angling to extricate themselves from the contraption called Nigeria. It is obvious that every ethnic group wants deliverance from the bondage called Nigeria. It is evident that no one believes in the quagmire called Nigeria. None of us has any emotional connection to the country called Nigeria. It is not ours. It is not our making. It does not belong to us. No one wants it.

Nigeria is not a nation. It is a country of nations. These component nations desire to be independent nation-states. A country or a nation (for the purpose of this context) is more than the physical buildings. It is more than a beautiful Capital Territory. It is more than the existence of powerful armed forces. It is more than a government that controls.

A nation, to exist has to be ingrained in the psyche of its citizens. There has to be that emotional connection. It has to run as blood in the veins and marrow in the bones of those who subscribe to it. A nation is that consummated indescribable feelings that command the unalloyed love, permeated with buoyant affection and infused with unsolicited loyalty of those who subscribe to it. A nation is that which is patently invisible but translucently obvious and recurrent in the gliding waves of the sea of sub-consciousness, of its people.

This is not the case with Nigeria. We all have nothing in common. Our aspirations are different. Our hopes are different. Our dreams are different. Our primordial attachment is very strong. No one likes to be dominated. No one likes to be in bondage. No one likes to be enslaved. No one likes it when others take advantage of him or his/her people. We are all ethnic jingoists. Yet we are unwilling to accept it. We are all in denial. We all pretend to be Nigeria lovers, when indeed we all hate Nigeria. Our ethnic group is where we derive our identity. It is where we derive our worldview. It is where we derive and form our character. It is what describes us as human beings. It is the kernel of our authenticity. It is what makes us unique. It is what makes us special.

As I wrote elsewhere, a Yoruba man anywhere in the world would do his best to raise his children in Yoruba ways. An Ijaw man would do the same. An Igbo man would do the same. An Efik man would do the same. A Kanuri man would do the same. A Mumuye man would do the same. An Edo man would do the same. Every man would do the same. None of us would raise his child as a Nigerian. This is because Nigeria does not exist in our consciousness. It is not in our psyche. There is no emotional connection. There is no cultural connection. There is no identity connection. There is no sense of belonging of any sort.

It is noteworthy that those mouthing ONE NIGERIA are those benefiting from the tragedy represented by Nigeria. Those who are advocating that Nigeria remains one are doing so not because they love Nigeria, but because they love their pockets. They are the ones who get the big contracts and refuse to execute them. They are the ones who appeal to the primordial sentiments when they lose out in the struggle for the loot. They are the ones who mouth national unity when they get inflated contracts. They are the ones who have no regard for their own people back in their communities. They are the ones who care less for the sufferings of the poor. They are the ones who live ostentatiously and flaunt their wealth to make poor people envious.

They are the ones who are quick to point to their friends in other ethnic groups as if, were Nigeria to break up that friendship would cease. I have Ghanaian friends. I have Togolese friends. I have Senegalese friends. I have Liberian friends. I have American friends. I have British friends. This does not mean that we have to be in the same country to remain friends.

There are those who tout inter-marriage, as a reason Nigeria should remain one. This is balderdash. I know many Igbo who are married to Americans. I know many Yoruba who are married to Germans or British. I know many Ghanaians who are married to peoples from the geographical location called Nigeria. This does not mean that they necessarily have to come from the same country to remain married.

It is my view that there would be better relationships among the peoples of the different nations of Nigeria if each were to control its destiny. It is my view that there would likely be more friendships across the new borders. There would likely be more marriages across the new borders. There would be less hostility across the new borders. There would be more geniality across the new borders. All we need is just go for it and break up Nigeria.

Nigeria is not a viable entity. It is a tragedy. It is a misnomer. It should cease existence. We all have to go our different ways. This is more so because this is what we all want severally. We all do not want Nigeria. We are all dissatisfied with Nigeria. Nigeria has betrayed us. Our hopes are dashed. Our dreams are unrealizable within the Nigerian structure.

Those who work hard are in penury. Those whose lands are producing the resources are in poverty. Nigeria deprives those who value education. Nigeria impedes those who value cattle rearing. Nigeria constricts those who want to be international businessmen. Nigeria is rebuffing those who want to make Arabic education a priority. Nigeria is holding back those who want to jump into the age of technology. Nigeria is denying those who want Sharia law. Nigeria is depriving those who want a secular state.

Nigeria is impeding those who want merit. Nigeria is humiliating those who value integrity. Nigeria is disgracing those who want self-respect and dignity. Nigeria incubates crime and criminals. Nigeria is lawless. Nigeria encourages uncouthness. Nigeria encourages abuse of elders. It disparages the youth. It undermines our age long traditions.

I am not a religious person. I hate churches. I loathe mosques. But something nudges me about the existence of the Supreme Being. Though, I am not sure about this, I am willing to entertain myself with the thoughts of such. To this extent, I am declaring that I have the proof that Nigeria exists against the WILL of ELEDUMARE.

I do not know about the Jewish Yahweh. I do not know about the Christian God. I do not know about the Islamic Allah. But I know that the Eledumare of Yoruba people is not deaf. He does not wait 47 years without responding to supplications as the Christian God and Islamic Allah have obviously done. The Yoruba Eledumare is swift and effective. But the problem is that the Yoruba have abandoned their Eledumare for the Christian God and the Islamic Allah. Now they are in quandary. They are in disarray. They are in dilemma. They are in predicament. I believe this problem is replicated among most of the ethnic nations in the geographical location referred to as Nigeria.

We have abandoned our roots. We have abandoned our fore fathers. We have abandoned our ways. We have abandoned our identities. We go around in borrowed robes. We are following the wrong faiths. This is why the prayers would never avail Nigeria. This is why Nigeria would NEVER make it. It is why Nigeria would break up whether we like it or not.

Why, for example, should the Ogonis remain in Nigeria when they are bigger than 22 countries represented in the United Nations in terms of population? Why? After all there is a country (Monaco) represented in the United Nations which size is just 1 square mile! Then talk about the Edo nation. Talk about the Efik nation. Talk about the Igbo nation. Talk about the Tiv nation. Talk about the Nupe nation. Talk about the Yoruba nation. Talk about the Hausa/Fulani nation among many other nations chained together in bondage and subjugation in the Nigerian miasma. Why do we all choose to believe the lies that Nigeria cannot break into as many countries as the peoples of the presented geographical location called Nigeria want?

The Hausa/Fulani should consciously seek their freedom from this miserable Nigeria. They could go it all alone. If Burkina –Faso and Niger Republic could survive, the Hausa/Fulani could survive too. The Katafs need to be free from Nigeria. The Igbo have to be free from Nigeria. The Ijaw have to emancipate from Nigeria. The Yoruba have to extricate from Nigeria. The Edo have to disentangle from Nigeria. The Efik must seek freedom from the Nigerian burden. The Tivs should throw off the yoke of Nigeria. We all must work together to consign Nigeria to the dustbin of history. It is Nigeria’s destiny. It must break up.

If Nigeria breaks up, it would increase the competition among all of us. Those who want to move fast to develop would do so. Those who want to slow down would do so. Those who want Sharia would move to adopt it. Those who want to be an extension of the Vatican City could do so. Those who want to educate their citizens could do so. Those who want to rear cattle would do so. Those who love Osama Bin Laden could follow him. Those who want a Taliban dominated nation would have the freedom to do so.

The Yoruba nation is saddled with the governments it loathes. The Yoruba nation is prevented from following its vision. The Yoruba nation is impeded from the pursuit of its dreams. The Yoruba nation is made to abandon its true character under duress. The Yoruba nation is made to denounce its true self under the threat of economic and political annihilation. The Yoruba nation has had its fabric torn to tatters. The Yoruba nation has fallen to the in-house enemy in Olusegun Obasanjo and his clique. All these have been possible because the Yoruba nation is chained to the tragedy called Nigeria.

This is true of every other nation within the Nigerian contraption. Nigeria must break up. It is the only way out. It is the only means to realize our dreams, severally. It is the only way to realize our hopes, severally. It is the way we can stop the renegades from representing us. I am sure that Andy Ubah does not represent the real Igbo people. I know that Chief Lamidi Adedibu may be “strong” in Ibadan. But Ibadan is not the entire Yorubaland. I know that Muhamadu Buhari does not speak for the entire Hausa/Fulani people.

I am aware that Olusegun Obasanjo is not a Yoruba man. I am aware there are so many traitors from the Niger Delta who feast on the misery of their people. I am aware there are many politicians who revel in the tragedy that the lives of their people represent. It is time to stop them by breaking up Nigeria.

If it were within a Hausa Fulani nation, Sani Abacha could not have emerged Head of State. If it were within the Igbo nation Andy Ubah would not be relevant. If it were within the Yoruba nation, Olusegun Obasanjo would be a persona non grata. Nigeria is incubating them and their ilk. Nigeria is rearing them and their ilk. Nigeria is protecting them and their ilk. Nigeria is feeding them and their ilk. This is one of the most important reasons why Nigeria must break up.

We all want to have our nation-states where we can hold people accountable. We need to do away with the protective evil umbrella that Nigeria spreads over the evil doers in our respective nations. We ought to stop pretending that we want Nigeria. Nigeria must break up. We all need to work towards this. It is the best option available.

I know breaking up Nigeria is a titanic task. I know most people are afraid to express this truism. I know most people are scared to contemplate this reality. But I am convinced that this is the DESTINY of Nigeria. I know that those who are benefiting from the Nigerian misery would resist. But we have to take a cue from Calvin Coolidge to be persistent and determined.

I call on the nations of Nigeria to begin their liberation from Lord Lugard’s contraption. The DESTINY of Nigeria is the freedom of all nations subjugated under its misnomer. Nigeria can never give us peace. It must break into pieces. It is Nigeria’s DESTINY.
