We Have Paid The Ultimate Price With Our Parents - Nnamdi Kanu's Family

Family of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, said with the death of its patriarch, Eze Isaac Okwu Kanu, it had paid the supreme price for the Biafra struggle.

Afaraukwu Eze-in-council comprising the three communities in Afaraukwu in Umuahia North Local Government of Abia State had, at the weekend, formally announced the death of the traditional ruler who was believed to have died in early November.

Speaking with Daily Sun at Afaraukwu, the spokesman of the family, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, said nothing was as painful as the death of their parents, adding that it came as shock to them, but assured they were doing everything humanly possible to absorb the shock.

He said: “Nothing is as painful as what we’ve been through with regard to my parent’s death. It came to us as shock and a very big one for that matter. But we are doing everything we can humanly possible to absorb that shock.

“We fully understand that it’s what everyone has to go through directly or indirectly, but this is a very challenging and difficult time.

“However, in everything, we give God praise. He said when good happens, we should praise Him so as when evil happens. It hasn’t been easy. But we are doing all we can to make sure that what we believe in is achieved.”

Kanu said they would miss their parents in so many ways, including their parental advice, food and even their disagreements to agree on issues, which he said, were always moments of joy instead of bitterness for the family.

He said: “We are going to miss everything about them, there is the parental advice; the way they make us laugh all the time. You need to see my mother and my father disagree with each other.

“When you see them sit down and iron out their differences, of course, it makes us laugh. They agree in everything, sometimes they disagree as well.

What you may not want to say about any situation, my mother will stand bold to say it without giving a damn to whatever happens, that’s who she is. She is a fearless woman, very fearless, indeed”.

Kanu, who equally added that they would miss their parent’s support for Biafra, stressed that they were pillars to the struggle. However, he stated that wherever they may be today, their wish would be for them to see Biafra realised.

He stressed that they, their children and Biafrans alike, know the dream was alive and were doing whatever they could to achieve it without minding whatever opposition on the way.

Breaking: Nnamdi Kanu's Father Is Also Dead

IPOB PRESS RELEASE
 6/12/2019

We the global family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by our great leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu wish to console the family our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the entire Kanu family and the community of Afaraukwu over the passing  of their father, uncle, brother and traditional ruler, His Royal Majesty Eze Sir Israel Okwu Kanu the Egwu Ukwu II of Afaraukwu who joined his ancestors as a result of health complications arising from the trauma of the invasion of his palace by Nigerian soldiers on September 14, 2017 and most recently over the  shock of the sudden death of his wife Ugoeze Sally Nmeme Okwu Kanu.

We are left in no doubt the military attack on Isiama Afaraukwu and the Kanu family by the armed forces of the Federal Government of Nigeria is the principal cause of death of our leader's parents. We confidently state, without fear of contradiction, that our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu have also sacrificed his parents in pursuit of freedom for the people of Biafra. There is no greater act of devotion to a noble cause than this.

Rather than weaken or diminish our resolve to restore Biafra, the passing of our leader's parents will infuse us with a greater sense of determination because only by accomplishing the liberation of Biafra will we truly mourn them.

We are asking Almighty God Chukwu Okike Abiama to grant the family, friends, lovers of freedom, Afaraukwu Eze-in-Council and entire community the fortitude to bear the great loss and vacuum the passing of His Majesty has created in our midst.

Concrete Information revealed to Eco City Reporters, confirmed that 4 persons has is dead while many sustained severe injuries.

Fani Kayode in his statement laid curse on those who may have led the murderous act against innocent civilains says, ‘God Will Judge them’

Speaking further, he called for peace and restraint from all sides.

Femi Fani-Kayode Wrote below:

I was in Orafite, Anambra state yesterday with my friend, lawyer and brother Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor who happens to be Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer as well.

This morning as I was about to enter the Federal High Court in Lagos I received a phone call from him and he told me that his Orafite home had been stormed by the police.

He said a total of 4 people, including the young man that led me to his home from the traditional rulers palace had been killed and that his family were badly brutalised and traumatised.

Ifeanyi buried his brother just four days ago, his family are still mourning and now this! May God judge those behind it!

Since the call he made to me this morning no-one, including his wife and children, have seen or heard from him. I pray he is safe and well. I was told that two policemen were also killed during the course of the raid. I call for peace and restraint from all sides.

The shedding of innocent blood is a great evil and I wholeheartedly condemn it. It is a terrible thing that has drastic, long-term and calamitious consequences for those that indulge in it and those that live and rule by it.

May the souls of all those that were killed this morning rest in peace and may God restore sanity and respect for human life to our country.

Those that rule by tyranny, brutality and the power of the gun shall not prevail.

IF Nigeria Prison Is The Safest Place To Be, Then Take Your Entire Family There - Nnamdi Kanu Replies Justice Binta Nyako

MASTER REPORTERS GLOBAL NEWS

Breaking the news from around the globe.

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Friday, berated Justice Binta Nyako of an Abuja Federal High Court for saying prison was the safest place for him in Nigeria.

In a tweet, Kanu wrote: “According to Justice Binta Nyako, “Nigeria is NOT safe for anyone, including judges.” If in her view, prison is the safest place to live for Nigerians, I suggest her family move into the nearest one to avoid being abducted. Nigeria is lawless, confirmed!”

The IPOB leader made the remark while faulting the judge’s ruling over his bail application yesterday.

Kanu, who had failed to appear before the court for his trial since he was granted bail a few years ago, had yesterday declared his intention to appear in person.

He promised to resume his trial if only his security can be guaranteed.

However, Justice Nyako held that even judges were not safe in Nigeria, stressing that the only safe place for Kanu was in prison.

“Even judges are being abducted in the country. So prison is the only safest place for him,” she had said.

But Kanu, in his reaction described Nigeria as a lawless country.

Justice Binta Nyako has said the safest place for Nnamdi Kanu in Nigeria is inside the prison yard.

Nnamdi Kanu in court

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, on Thursday, told the Federal High Court, Abuja, that he was ready to face trial if his safety would be guaranteed by the court, NAN reports.

Kanu told the presiding judge, Justice Binta Nyako, through his counsel, Ifeanyi Ejiofor.

Ejiofor told the court that the application to restore the IPOB leader’s bail so that he could face his trial was filed on April 1.

“We have an application for bail filed on April 1, 2019, the application was served on the prosecution and it is ripe for hearing.

“We urge the court to restore his bail on the grounds that the court will guarantee his safety when he comes back to the country to continue his trial,” he said.

On his part, counsel for the Federal Government, Labaran Shuaibu, who told the court that he was just seeing the process, opposed to the application.

Shuaibu urged the court to adjourn the matter to enable them file the necessary processes.

Delivering the ruling, Justice Nyako, who adjourned the matter till Jan. 16, said the only way he could guarantee Kanu’s safety was to keep him in the prison.

She said even judges no longer safe in the country.

“Even judges are being abducted in the country. So prison is the only safest place for him,” she said.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Justice Nyako had ordered the re-arrest of the self-proclaimed leader of IPOB, Kanu.

The judge gave the order in a ruling after revoking the bail granted to Kanu.

She explained that the court gave the order because Kanu had failed to appear in court after his bail was granted in April 2017.

The judge also ordered that trial would continue in the absence of the IPOB leader and directed that a bench warrant be issued for his arrest.

NAN reports that Justice Nyako had granted Kanu bail on health grounds on April 25, 2017, and asked him to present three sureties, one of whom must be a serving senator, a Jewish religious leader and a highly respected person who must own a landed property in Abuja.

The judge warned the IPOB leader against granting press interviews, holding rallies or being in a gathering of more than 10 persons while on bail.

She had also warned him that the bail would be revoked if he flouted any of the conditions.

Breaking: Ndi Eze Imo Crowns IPOB Leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu "IHE NKE AFRICA 1"(LIGHT OF AFRICA 1)

Breaking the news from around the globe.

A group of traditional rulers and other traditional title holders came together on 24th October to bestow upon the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra the title "the light of Africa". The royal fathers who showered blessings upon the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra,  called on all "Biafrans to stand behind Nnamdi Kanu for his genuine pursuit for our collective freedom". Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was represented by his younger brother Prince Emmanuel Kanu who stood  for his brother.

It will be recall that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu home was invaded by the joint  Nigeria security agents led by the Army on the operation that claimed over hundred lives.  The effects of the military operation which was widely condemned is seen as the cause of the demise of the mother of  the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra.

Accepting the title for his brother, Prince   Emmanuel Kanu thanked the royal fathers and urged them to keep hope alive over Biafra restoration as his elder brother (Mazi Nnamdi Kanu)  is assiduously working despite the family  bereavement for Biafra restoration.

Biafra Restoration Is The Only Way To Honor My Late Mother - Nnamdi Kanu

MASTER REPORTERS GLOBAL NEWS

Breaking the news from around the globe.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has announced the loss of his mother, Sally Nmeme Okwu-Kanu video message.

The video message reads:

fellow Biafrans, lovers of freedom all over the world. I bring you the particularly sad news about the passing of my mother, Ugoeze Sally Nmeme Okwu-Kanu who died on the 30Th of August this year in Germany.

Anybody who met my mother or had the unique privilege of making her acquaintance will testify to her generosity and above all her devotion and love for Biafra. Not just for Biafra as a project but for all those who are within it. She saw IPOB as her family and did everything she could to ensure this very struggle is what it is today.

And as we all know the events of the 14th of September 2017 contributed immensely to her ill-health which unfortunately the doctors were not able to do anything about.

A mother as caring and compassionate as she is watching and seeing how children being killed – twenty-eight (28) of them in total – and seeing their dead bodies traumatized her to the extent that she took ill of which she never recovered.

We are grateful for your prayers and on behalf of the entire Kanu family and IPOB worldwide, we are particularly grateful for all your good wishes and prayers. We ask you to continue to pray for us as we also continue to pursue this noble effort to restore Biafra. Because that is the only way my mother could be honoured. That is the only way that she would want her memory to be honoured.

We are going to march unrelentlessly until Biafra is restored. That is saying on numerous occasions that I will sacrifice everything sacrificable to ensure Biafra is restored. And today I can tell you that my mother has been sacrificing this very process and we are not stopping and we are not resenting.

The most critical thing is Biafra. The most important issue facing us is Biafra. And that is what we are focused on and that is what we are going to accomplish. And as I said earlier, that is the only way to respect her memory and to honour her.

We thank each and every person, every group, every association that have made gestures towards us and that have recognized that there are needs for us to work together at this very difficult period to ensure that Biafra is restored. We commend all your efforts.

And for Biafrans all over the world, this very efforts to restore Biafra continues. It is not going to stop. As I said, my mother died on the 30Th of August way before my trip to the EU. Way before my visit to the UN in Geneva, way before my visit and travel to Japan. But we have continued to move on and shall continue to move.

And we pray for the safe repose of her soul in the blossom of Chukwu-Okike Buru Eme Ihenini, who we know Will keep her and from there she will watch over Biafra. And in our time Biafra shall come.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has said Igbo Presidency will not end the ongoing Biafra agitation

Kanu said this during his second broadcast of the month on Radio Biafra on Monday, October 7, 2019.

Kanu maintained that those clamouring for Igbo Presidency in 2023 were wasting their time.

The IPOB leader further stated that the: “Igbo presidency is a dream, it’s like second Niger bridge and Ogoni cleanup,” hence will not stop Biafra agitation.

He said: “The claim that Igbo Presidency will stop Biafrans and others from agitating for Biafra does not hold water.

“The idea that the Igbo presidency will end the agitation for Biafra is nonsense.

“The Presidency coming to the South East in the year 2023, will not make the lives of those living in the region any better.

“The Northern region of the country, has the presidency but still has beggars, banditry, and camps for Internally Displaced Persons, IDP.

“Having the presidency will not make your life better, Igbo presidency is a dream, it’s like second Niger bridge and Ogoni cleanup.

“IPOB’s mission to #FreeBiafra from Nigeria is divine and unstoppable. We shall continue to expose every lie and unravel every conspiracy against IPOB and Biafra.”
