Breaking News : EFCC has arraigned 3 INEC staff over N179.8 million allerged fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Monday arraigned three staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission before a Federal High Court Lagos bordering on alleged fraud of 179. 8 million naira.


The accused persons Yemi Akinwonmi, Dickson Atiba and Ogunmodede Oladayo are staff of the Ogun State INEC.


They were arraigned before Justice Sule Hassan on eight count-charges bordering on conspiracy, receiving various monies without going through financial institutions and accepting various cash sums exceeding the amount authorized by the law.


The three accused persons were said to have received the said money to compromise the 2015 general elections.


The accused however pleaded not pleaded to all the charges.


 Justice Hassan, after listening to the submissions of both parties, adjourned the matter till August 6, for hearing on the accused’s bail applications
