Newly elected president of Mexico lays out  to address drug war

Mexico's incoming president, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, is hoping to address the united states's growing drug problem, Reuters reviews.

Why it matters: Mexico is "[reeling] from a militarized drug struggle," in keeping with Reuters. Obrador hopes to "rewrite the policies of the drug conflict," presenting decriminalization, taking army employees off the streets, and honing in on the reasons of poverty which feed into the drug war.
