Nigeria must remain as one indivisible Country - Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe (ret.)



 

PARIS, AUGUST 13, 2018: (DGW) Air Commodore Okoh Ebitu Ukiwe (rtd) has declared to Nigerians that Nigeria should remain one, united country and therefore embrace peace in order to move the country forward from its numerous challenges.

He made the call in Lagos, Nigeria while addressing his kinsmen during the unveiling of the Ohaneze Ndigbo new secretariat in Surulere. 

Ukiwe, the Ochiagha Ndigbo, who was impressed by the impact made by the newly elected President of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Lagos Chapter, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, said that the peace initiative he had instituted at the heel of his administration to bring together all the warring traditional rulers, various unions and organisations under one peaceful entity, was commendable and must be appreciated by all and sundry to move the cause of Ndigbo and Nigeria aspiration to height. 

On the state of the nation and the current happenings in the National Assembly, Ukiwe declined comments but said, “Having been in the thick of things happening, before and now, people would not believe you if you are telling them the truth. 

Things are unfolding. We are watching and we shall see how far. But I plead with Nigerians to embrace peace to move the country forward” 

Notable Ndigbo personalities at the event include Dr George Obiozor, a former Nigerian Ambassador to the United States; Chief Goddy Uwazurike, SAN, Aka-Ikenga leader; Dr. Jude Ringo Okeke, President, Southeast Ndigbo, Lagos; women leaders and various Igbo union leaders. 

Traditional rulers present also include His Royal Highness, Eze Hyacinth Ohazulike, Ezeigbo, Lagos; Eze Uche Dimgba and Eze Christian Nwachukwu.
