Police in Imo state, today teargassed IPOB women who are on peaceful protest in Owerri, I'm state.
The women who appeared on black attire and palm fronds on their forehead started this protest from Okigwe road down to government house.
Also, some of them were said to have been arrested by the police.
It was gathered that some of the women reportedly said that there would be no election in Biafra land come 2019. And again, they are using that medium to ask Nigeria government and the Nigerian Army the way about of their leader mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his parents whom they invaded their house on September 14th and took them away.
They also said that they were not happy that pro Biafra agitators have been intimidated for expressing their views.
They added that it was not a wrong step for them to demand for a country called Biafra.
However, drama ensued when over 100 police officers with their patrol vans went after the women and started gassing the women who are on peaceful protest. “As a result of this, many women was injured as they were trying to escape the harmful teargass.
“Do you know that many of these women fainted and also many of them were bundled into the police vehicles. Some of them were seriously beaten.”
As if that was not enough, these policemen went as far as arresting the drivers that conveyed these women from being different parts of Biafra land to I'm state with their vehicles. There way about still unknown.
"We have right to say we are not going to be part of Nigeria. It legally right.” we need our own sovereign nation called Biafra where we will feel at home.
