How Fredrick Lugard forcefully amalgamated Nigeria in the year 1914 and the British Power

The Northern and Southern protectorates of  Nigeria were forcefully amalgamated by the colonial Master known as Fedrick Lugard in January, 1914. Several people even statesmen and scholars have expressed contending views about the risks and incentives of this forceful amalgamation.

For instance, Speaking in the Northern house of Assembly in 1952, Sir Alhaji Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, who later become the prime minister of Nigeria from 1960 -- 1966 dismissed the so called amalgamation of Nigeria by the British Government .

He declared as stated :  "The Southern people who are swarming into our Region on daily basis in their Large numbers are INTRUDERS". They are not  in any way welcome here in the North. North and South is the oil and water that cannot never mix together.

After seeing all these, I don't know why our people are still much interested in the land that they are not welcomed. This is to put themselves in great danger because people you are living in their land did not welcome you right from the inceptive.

Know it at the back of your mind that as far as this comment was made long time ago, others still capitalize on it. And should anything happen again , consider all your resources forfeited. There is no place like home. A word is enough for the Wise.

Nigeria is a mere "GEOGRAPHICAL EXPRESSION" -- Richard Palmer. And the so called amalgamation was made to last for 100 years which has been that is from 1914 - 2014. And after the expiration, any region that doesn't want to continue can go their separate ways.

So i think the agitation for the sovereign state of Biafra is in line with this because Lugard made it clear  in his statement in the document of the amalgamation.
