The Supreme Court yesterday ruled that Guaranteed Trust Bank MUST pay to Innoson Motors the total sum of 14 Billion Naira within 2 weeks.
Late last year(December 20, 2017), there was serious tussle between GTBank, EFCC and Innoson.
The Chief Executive Officer of Innoson Group of Companies, Chief Innocent Chukwuma has denied the allegations by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, that he forged tax waiver documents.
He(Innoson) stated that he never missed out in paying his taxes and he went further to back up his claim with documents.
After several months the matter was in court, GTBank has been charged to pay total sum of 14billion Naira to Innoson company within stipulated time of two weeks
The order means final conclusion, GTBank cannot appeal anymore and must pay.
This puts the bank under serious threat of bankruptcy and customers’ money in serious danger as well.
