In a swift response to recent position of the Indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB, the Vice presidential running mate of PDP, Mr Peter Obi has stated that he cannot be intimidated by the groups threat adding that IPOB is becoming too cheap and childish politically.
Obi stated this during his press television program with Channels TV.
while responding to allegations of Two Billion Naira Bribe.
The former governor of Anambra state emphasized that he can’t waste his hard earned money to bribe an irrelevant group such as IPOB whose voting strength is less than 0. five percent in the entire south eastern states.
It could be recalled that IPOB few days ago made a categorical statement where the body passed vote of no confidence on the former governor of Anambra state on his Vice Presidential ambition and further accused him of attempting to bribe them with 2billion naira which according to them were turned down.
Proceeding from the above controversy, Obi has described IPOB as a Terrorist group whose activities remains questionable, preposterous and instrasigent and as such doesn’t deserve his attention.
As concerned citizens of Ndi Igbo, it therefore pains to watch the scenario as the impase between Obi and IPOB worsens even to the extent of the former governor joining forces with the north in proscribing his regional freedom fighters /association as a terrorist group.
We therefore expect and suspect that certain issues may have lingered between ex-governor Obi and IPOB which at the moment may likely not be settled soon owing to the negative impression Obi has developed against IPOB especially when he described them as a terrorist group.
