The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has won 64 senatorial seats while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has secured 40 seats in the collated results of the National Assembly elections held on Saturday, February 23.
According to reports, Young Progressives Party (YPP) also got one senatorial seat while results of some senatorial districts are being awaited to be declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The districts are in Plateau state, one in Taraba state and one in Imo state, New Telegraph reports.
Here are the breakdown per geopolitical zone APC Northwest – APC won 20 out of the 21 senatorial seats available Southwest – APC won 14 out of the 18 seats available Northeast – 14 senatorial seats North Central – 12 senatorial seats South South – 3 senatorial seats South-East – 2 senatorial seats PDP South-South – 15 senatorial seats out of the 18 senatorial slots in the zone Southeast – 11 out of 15 slots for the zone North east – 3 seats South west – 3 seats.
