Trump Criticizes UN Members For Promoting Abortion

Yesterday President Donald Trump slammed “global bureaucrats” in his remarks at the United Nations General Assembly, criticizing them for promoting abortions in other countries.

“We are aware that many United Nations projects have attempted to assert a global right to taxpayer-funded abortion on demand, right up until the moment of delivery,” he said. “Global bureaucrats have absolutely no business attacking the sovereignty of nations that wish to protect innocent life. Like many nations here today we in America believe that every child, born and unborn, is a sacred gift from God.”

According to Lifenews, pro life groups were quick to thank the President for standing up for the rights of the unborn at home and abroad.

Carol Tobias, President of National Right to life said:

“We thank and praise President Trump for his continuing leadership on preserving and defending the right to life for all innocent human life. His remarks today at the U.N. General Assembly serve to remind world leaders that abortion is not an international right.”

Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of the Susan B. Anthony List said:

“The Trump administration’s strong pro-life leadership on the world stage is no secret. From day one, President Trump has worked to restore respect for life as a foundational American value not only in our domestic policies, but in our international relations as well. Secretaries Pompeo and Azar have played key roles in advancing the President’s pro-life agenda and deserve credit for their efforts.”

Bradley Mattes, President of Life Issues Institute said:

“This unprecedented letter from two high-ranking United States Cabinet members is welcome news to the international pro-life community. Abortion advocates are trying to do an end run around official United Nations agreements by insisting on using ambiguous terms like ‘sexual and reproductive health’ and ‘comprehensive sexuality education’ – code phrases for imposing abortion on demand on countries where unborn babies are protected by law. The Trump administration is reaching out to governments worldwide, asking for their support at the U.N. to stand up to pro-abortion government entities including the European Union and keep pro-abortion language out of documents. We thank Secretary Pompeo, Secretary Azar, and especially President Trump for their extraordinary leadership and commitment to promoting a culture of life around the globe.”

The president’s comments follow just one day after the Trump administration urgedcountries across the world to stand up for the rights of the unborn by resisting the implementation of radical pro abortion policies at the United Nations.

Every Child Born And Unborn Is A Sacred Gift From God Almighty - Donald Trump

The United Nations General Assembly is holding its seventy-fourth session in New York City. The session opened on September 17, 2019, and the first day of the high-level general debate was on Tuesday, September 24, 2019.

Several members of state, including Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar gave speeches before various countries’ delegations at the United Nations.

President Donald Trump told the General Assembly, ““Like many nations here today, we in America believe that every child – born and unborn – is a sacred gift from God.”

President Trump pointed out that the United Nations agencies all too often are pushing a pro-abortion agency on other countries. Trump referred to UN officials and employees engaging in this activity “global bureaucrats” and said they “have attempted to assert a global right to taxpayer-funded abortion on demand, right up until the moment of delivery.”

Trump lamented the fact that “global bureaucrats” are putting pressure on other countries to adopt pro-abortion policies. Those people, he said, “have absolutely no business attacking the sovereignty of nations that wish to protect innocent life.”

President Trump remarked before the General Assembly that “Americans will also never tire of defending innocent life.”

Trumps remarks follow on the heels of a letter signed by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar in which the United States urged member countries of the United Nations to join the United States in opposing harmful, pro abortion policies.

“We remain gravely concerned that aggressive efforts to reinterpret international instruments to create a new international right to abortion and to promote international policies that weaken the family have advanced through some United Nations fora,” the letter stated.

The letter asked countries to join together with the United States to ensure that every nation can “determine the best way to protect the unborn and defend the family as the foundational unity of society vital to children thriving and leading healthy lives.”

Additionally, the letter expressed concerns about the overall diminished  role that parents now play in their children’s lives when it comes to topics like sex education. It pointed out that vague phrases like “sexual and reproductive health” could be used to push abortion on other countries.

Phrases like the one above have “been asserted to mean promotion of abortion, including pressuring countries to abandon religious principles and cultural norms enshrined in law that protect unborn life,” the letter stated.

The letter is just the latest in a series of steps taken by the Trump administration to protect the unborn both at home and abroad.

Pro life groups were quick to thank the President for standing up for the rights of the unborn at home and abroad.

Donald Trump gets go-ahead to build Mexico border wall

The US Supreme Court has given the go-ahead for Donald Trump to spend $2.5bn (£2bn) to build a section of wall on the southern border with Mexico.

The lower courts had frozen the cash but the court ruled by five votes to four that the US president will be able to progress with what was a major 2016 election campaign promise.

Mr Trump tweeted after the announcement: "Wow! Big VICTORY on the Wall. The United States Supreme Court overturns lower court injunction, allows Southern Border Wall to proceed. Big WIN for Border Security and the Rule of Law!"

The supreme court's decision means wall projects can now begin in Arizona, California and New Mexico.

The case the supreme court ruled in began after the 35-day partial government shutdown that started last December.

Mr Trump ended the shutdown in February after Congress gave him approximately $1.4bn (£1.1bn) in border wall funding.
