Advice To Pete Edochie

ADVICE TO PETE EDOCHIE

Nna'anyi Pete Edochie please sir respect yourself, do not dare IPOB. We love you as a cultural icon, role model, good actor and somebody who speaks fluent Igbo. You got your facts wrong on Igboland being landlocked and we merely corrected you sir. Igboland is not landlocked because UBANI (Bonny) and Opobo are Igbo people not Izon as we were deceived to believe until IPOB came.

Whoever in Ireland shot the video that angered you sir did a very good job. Any Igbo elder who thinks Igboland is restricted to 5 south-east states stand to be corrected. It's a shame some of our elders that should know better are being tutored by this fearlessly vibrant generation.

Your support for the traitor Nwodo who along with Ike Ekweremadu superintended Operation Python Dance that cost so many lives will put you into trouble with Biafrans. Those who are close to you must caution you on this issue. Sir, before you can pontificate on reciprosity of respect as obtains in Igbo tradition, you need to first undergo what parents of victims of Operation Python Dance endured, the pain of the loss of a loved one.

Had you lost your first son to Nnia Nwodo's treachery will you still regard him as an Igbo leader worthy of respect? Next time Sir, please choose your words very carefully. Some of us in IPOB are older than you.

The era of condoning or celebrating mediocrity in our land because its coming from an older person is over for good. If you claim you are old but cannot defend your children then you are not a father, you are an Efulefu. Respect is earned not given, respect is reciprocal.

You are our hero and cultural icon, you will always have our admiration and respect forever but please don't defend traitors or dabble into subjects that are above your station. Biafra is our only hope, anybody toying with it will be destroyed beyond recognition.

Daalu nna'anyi ukwu

Breaking : EFCC Mounts Surveillance For 10 People From South East Who Are Involved In 3 Billion US Dollars Scam

MASTER REPORTERS GLOBAL NEWS

Breaking the news from around the globe.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it has mounted surveillance for 10 of the 78 Nigerians from the South-East, allegedly involved in the 3 billion US dollar scam. The Head, Enugu Zonal Office of the commission, Mr Usman Imam, disclosed this on Wednesday in Enugu while briefing newsmen on the activities of the commission in the past eight months. It would be recalled that the US Department of Justice had indicted 80 persons, including 78 Nigerians, in the multi-billion dollar fraud. Imam said that the anti-graft agency was seriously working with the scoop at its disposal and had placed surveillance on the suspects.

He gave the assurance that the suspects would be arrested and prosecuted “in order to prove to the world that such crime does not represent our values”. He said that the commission had the legal backing to prosecute the suspects in line with international treaties. “There is a mutual treaty between Nigeria and the USA. We will arrest them and if need be extradite them to the USA,” Imam said.  He said that the alleged offence was multi jurisdictional “because the stages leading to the crime was either initiated in Nigeria or the proceeds brought to the country”. He said that it was unacceptable to see parents enjoying ill-gotten wealth of their children, who they knew had no serious means of livelihood.

“Such also applies to the clergy and traditional rulers who rather than question suspiciously acquired wealth not only attribute it to God, but bestow titles on such individuals. “We assure Nigerians of our commitment to ensuring a better Nigeria so we warn looters and fraudsters about the consequences of their actions,” Imam said.

Xenophobia Attack: Protesters Burnt Police Van During Protest In Lagos

MASTER REPORTERS GLOBAL NEWS

Breaking the news from around the globe.

An unidentified person was shot dead outside the Shoprite premises around Jakande, Lekki area of Lagos state on Tuesday afternoon.

An eyewitness who described the victim as a protester said he was killed after an angry mob set a police van on fire during a protest on Tuesday.

Aggrieved persons had stormed the complex located on the Lekki-Epe expressway, chanting violent songs. Police officers on the ground had prevented them from gaining access into the mall but the protesters lit bonfires.

They also set up barricades around the complex, compounding the traffic situation along the ever-busy expressway. Bala El-Kana, spokesman of the Lagos state police command told newsmen that he could not give details of the attack.

“I don’t have any casualty figure, but I know there was a violent attack,” he said.

The development comes a day after reports of attacks on foreign nationals, including Nigerians, in South Africa, went viral.

MTN, ShopRite Shutdown Operation Over Fear Of Attack

MASTER REPORTERS GLOBAL NEWS

Breaking the news from around the globe.

South African company, Shoprite has shut down operations with staff locked inside its shopping complexes across Lagos.

At the Ikeja City Mall, the franchise abruptly shut down operations leaving shoppers stranded.

A notice on the door reads, “Dear customers, we condemn the xenophobic attacks happening in South Africa in its entirety.

“These attacks are totally incompatible with the values of our company and we are not in any way in support of it.”

Similarly, South African telecommunications company, MTN, also closed some of its outlets in the city for fear of an attack by angry Nigerians.

The latest development follows xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and other African migrants in South Africa since August 28, leading to loss of lives and the destruction of dozens of businesses owned by Nigerians.

Outraged by the situation, several Nigerians have called for a reprisal in the country where South African businesses flourish unhindered.
